As the newest (just about) member of the band, I thought it might be nice to write a little 'hello!', and thank everyone both reading this blog, and in the band/team for being so welcoming. The album process up until now has been a heck of a process, and I am astonished and in awe of how much work is going into it from everybody. Shooting videos and playing shows is great fun, but only a small part of what is needed, and I sometimes find myself struggling to keep up (although always pleased to do so) - I really can't wait for everyone to hear the album in full.
I'm writing this blog from an internet cafe in Galashiels, Scotland, as part of a thousand-mile Land's End to John O'Groats trek. I've been walking since the 28th June - so today officially marks the 6th week. I've been walking for the Chernobyl Children's Project, a small charity started in Manchester, to raise some money for them - and also to try and remind people that despite the 25th anniversary of the disaster looming (2 years before I was born), the effects of the explosion will be felt for another hundred or more years. I will be walking until the 3rd Sep (latest) and back in time to be thrown once more in at the deep end with the Union Sound Set boys.
Anyway, my money is running out on the PC! If you'd like to send an email, it's always great to get some morale boosting messages, and I'll endevour to respond wherever possible:

I especially would like to hear some music suggestions - currently flicking between the new Interpol single and some Lionel Hampton.

Well hello hello! USSet fans are just as excited as you are about the album. :)
I think it's awesome what you're doing, I see you lads are nearly two thirds of the way in raising the money. I think it's unfair how people who are innocent are the ones who have to feel the after-effects of something they weren't even a part of. Even I wasn't born yet back then, so I think it's really kind of you to give so much of your time and effort for that cause. Best of luck!
As for music suggestions, I'm listening to an instrumental post-rock album "Rain EP" by this dude who calls himself Circadian Eyes, I found him through a site called Legal Free Music. He's pretty good, if you're into piano instrumental post-rock stuff like that.
